Legal Research Databases

As a Master of Science in Law Student, access to various legal research databases has been made available to you to help you with your studies. While you complete your Master of Science in Law curriculum,  you will have access to Westlaw Precision, Bloomberg Law, and Lexis +.

Westlaw Precision

Westlaw is a legal research database where you can find state and federal case law, statutes, administrative codes, court documents, treatises, law review journals, legal forms, and other secondary sources. Students can also evaluate case authority by using KeyCite.

Westlaw Precision is a new search tool that allows you to look for specific attributes related to the legal issue and outcome, the fact pattern and material facts, the cause of action, motion type and outcome, party type, and area of law.

Bloomberg Law

Bloomberg Law is a research database that integrates Bloomberg's news and financial data with primary and secondary legal resources. This legal database provides access to practitioner resources such as forms state and federal cases, statutes, administrative codes, court documents, treatises, law review journals, legal forms, proprietary company information, and court docket information. Bloomberg Law is especially helpful when looking for news and current awareness, finding sample documents, and gaining access to dockets

Lexis +

Lexis + is a legal database providing access to primary law such as case law, statutes, and regulations. Lexis + also provides practical guidance including practice notes, checklists, and key market insights. Students can use the Shepardize tool for an editorial analysis of case law, statutes, regulations, and administrative decisions.
