How QR Codes Work

QR Code = Quick Response Code

A QR Code works by:

1. Using your device's camera to scan the QR Code or you may download a QR-Code reader app to scan the code.

2. Your code is read like a barcode

3. Info read may direct the user to a web site or to initiate an application to run.

What they do:

  • Access web site
  • Send email
  • Add phone contact
  • Make a phone call
  • Navigate Google Maps to location
  • Conduct web search
  • Virtual tour
  • Read menu
  • Get more text than shown on display
  • Send a text message
  • Make a PayPal payment
  • Watch video
  • Go to iTunes

  • Barcode hold maximum 20 characters
  • QR-Code can hold up to 7,089 characters
