The Bluepages, are located at the beginning of The Bluebook. They are a guide for practitioners and law clerks to use when citing authority in non-academic legal documents.
When using The Bluepages, there are some things to keep in mind.
- Local court rules may indicate different rules to use than The Bluebook.
- For Example: Florida Rules of Appellate Procedure Rule 9.800 provides citation forms for documents submitted to the Florida Appellate Courts.
- Wherever the Bluepages are silent as to a rule, the user is instructed to use the Whitepages. However please keep typeface differences in mind.
