Public and Community Services

Public & Community Services offers a wide range of free online programming for all ages, including weekly story times, teen events, adult programs, computer trainings, and specials.  In addition, PCS encourages teachers and students to utilize the library's resources.  Through a unique arrangement between the Broward County Board of County Commissioners and Nova Southeastern University, anyone that lives, works, or goes to school in Broward County may access this library’s resources.

Your Shark Card

For NSU students, faculty, staff, and alumni, your SharkCard is your library card!  It will allow you to request materials and access the library's online databases.  For information on how to get your SharkCard, please visit Campus Card Services.

Your E-Card

The Sherman Library E-Card is for Broward County Library users who have a card in good standing with the county library system.

Your Express-Card

The Sherman Library Express-Card is for anyone that lives, works, or goes to school in Broward County and does not have either a current NSU Alvin Sherman Library card or Broward County Library card.
