March 27 - May 1, 2025
Step into a world where art mirrors an essence of transformation. Metamorphosis brings together a group of artists and a wide range of video art, installations, traditional art, and more. From the evolution of nature to fantasies that define humanity, this exhibition invites you to witness and participate in the stories of change. Don't just look - be part of transformation by adding your experiences with the different forms of art that evolve over time. Witness the outstanding works created by the 2025 Halmos College of Arts and Sciences Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts (DCMA) graduating class.

- Black Art: In the Absence of LightAt the heart of this feature documentary is the groundbreaking "Two Centuries of Black American Art" exhibition curated by the late African American artist and scholar David Driskell in 1976. - Chasing PortraitsMoshe Rynecki (1881-1943) was a prolific Warsaw-based artist who painted scenes of the Polish-Jewish community until he was murdered at Majdanek. - This World Is Not My OwnFor most of her life, Nellie made art in obscurity, propelled by a force she viewed as a God-given gif t. As the daughter of a sharecropper and former slave, she made art from whatever she could find. As an adult, she transformed her home into her “Playhouse,” an imaginative oasis filled with vibrant drawings, handmade sculptures and dolls, and collected objects. Six years before her death, a wealthy gallerist, Judith Alexander, “discovered” and introduced her work to the art world.
