Instruction & Workshop Topics

  • General overview of library resources and services
    • Instruction on the use of electronic resources such as the catalog, databases, Full-text Finder, Interlibrary Loan, and other resources, such as software and hardware available and services offered by the library.

 

  • Advanced searching techniques
    • Instruction on search query formation and search syntax, different search strategies, and organizing information.

 

  • Citations and bibliographies
    • Instruction on formatting citations and bibliographies, common mistakes, and resources that assist students with their references.

 

  • Setting up and using EndNote
    • Librarians walk students through the process of setting up EndNote and using it to keep their research organized.

 

  • Formatting tips for your thesis or dissertation
    • Librarians will discuss common questions they get about formatting a thesis or dissertation, and how students can set themselves up for formatting success.
