Scholarly Publishing: Getting Published

The guide discusses various aspects of scholarly communications from evaluating the importance and relevance of scholarly publications to issues with copyright and possible advantages of open access journals and digital repositories.

Consult with a Librarian

If you want to get published in a journal that is well respected, you can set up an appointment with a librarian to get help in identifying scholarly, peer-reviewed journals that publish articles on your topic. It is important to also be sure that the articles in the journal you select are indexed.

A librarian can help walk you through this process. To schedule a consultation, use the form for your library: https://libguides.nova.edu/appointments

NOTE:
With the advent of open access publishing, especially the gold (author pays) model, many publishers and journals with questionable business practices have emerged.
