Nonprofit Startup Assessment

ASSESS YOUR READINESS to start a nonprofit, and access resources to build your skills and knowledge as a founder!
You should take this diagnostic if:

  • You are thinking about starting or have recently started a nonprofit
  • You have not previously navigated the processes of incorporation and applying for 501(c)(3) status
  • You are looking for funding to support a community project

Professional Non-Profit Associations-

Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP)
The AFP represents more than 30,000 members in more than 190 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs.

Florida Association of Non-Profit Organizations (FANO)
FANO is a leader in Nonprofit Education and Training. FANO has provided knowledge and certification through our education and training legacy programs.

Non-Profit Coalitions-

Southern Arts Federation
Launched by the Southern Arts Federation in 2003, provides a free forum for arts organizations to post jobs, internships, auditions and other calls for entry to a targeted arts audience.

Early Learning Coalition of Broward County, Inc.
The Early Learning Coalition provides the resources, advocacy, leadership, coordination and oversight for early care and education from birth to school-age and to support access to school-age care to ensure children's success in school.

Broward Healthy Start Coalition, Inc.
Broward Healthy Start Coalition, Inc. was incorporated on February 14, 1992 and is the leader in Maternal and Child Healthcare in Broward County in providing prenatal and infant care services. The Coalition is responsible for the formation and administration of the Broward Healthy Start system, which includes management of subcontracts for quality services to pregnant women and children birth to age three, monitoring services through quality improvement and assurance responsibilities and accountability.

Florida Immigrant Coalition
Florida Immigrant Coalition seeks equal rights for immigrants and integration into the civic and cultural life of our communities. We accomplish our mission through coordination of immigrant organizations and community education, organizing and advocacy.

Florida Non-Profit Alliance
The Florida Nonprofit Alliance is a statewide coalition of nonprofits focused on research, collaboration, and advocacy. Their mission is to inform, promote, and strengthen Florida’s nonprofit sector.
