First Floor Overview

library atriumThe first floor of the library is home to multiple service desks and library resources. On the first floor you will find the:

  • Circulation Desk
  • Office of Innovation and Information Technology (OIIT) desk, classrooms, and computer labs
  • Public and Community Services (PCS)
  • West End Deli 

     

 

 

Circulation Desk

Circulation DeskThe Circulation Desk assists with checking out and returning library materials that are borrowed from our collection.

Visit the Circulation Desk to:

  • Check out books, video games, graphing calculators, DVDs, and more
  • Borrow a textbook on Course Reserves
  • Check out a study room key
  • Pick up an Interlibrary Loan request

Your SharkCard serves as your library card, and you must have it with you in order to check out materials.

Office of Innovation and Information Technology (OIIT)

Office of Innovation and Information Technology help deskThe Office of Innovation and Information Technology (OIIT) provides technology support to students, faculty, and staff. OIIT can assist with general technology questions, computer troubleshooting, wi-fi, and printing. 

This area is also home to open computer labs and many classrooms.

OIIT provides virtual support through the Shark IT Service Center.

Public Library Services

The Public & Community Services (PCS) area offers library materials and programming for all ages, including children, teens, and adults.

Library materials on the first floor include:

  • Adult Print Bestsellers (located near the Circulation Desk)
  • Video games for multiple platforms (located near the Circulation Desk)
  • DVD & BluRay movies
  • Young Adult and Children's books & graphic novels

 

                   

 

   

    Librarians and library staff in this area can help recommend books that you might enjoy reading, assistance with downloading free e-books through the library, and K-12 resources for education students. They also offer a full calendar of events and programs for all ages.

West End Ave. Deli

West End Avenue Deli The West End Ave. Deli is located behind the elevators on the first floor. It is part of NSU's dining system and accepts SharkCards, cash, and debit/credit card payments.
