Anatomy & Physiology and Molecular Model Lending Library

Borrowing and Circulation

Approved Borrowers

Anatomy and physiology models may be checked out for 2 hours at a time for in-house use only at the Alvin Sherman Library. NSU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and Broward patrons must have a valid library card in good standing in order to check out models on reserve.

Circulation Policies

If an Anatomy and Physiology Model is damaged, the NSU Alvin Sherman Library Circulation Department will estimate at what point a model or set is not usable. The borrower will be responsible for the replacement cost if the models are not returned/returned in an unusable condition.

Anatomy and physiology kits are checked out at the Alvin Sherman Library Circulation Desk as a standard 2 hour reserve for in-house use only and will accrue late fees after the 2-hour loan period if not returned on time.

Approved Borrowers

Dr. Emily Schmitt Lavin, Chair of the Biology Department, provides an approved list of borrowers to the Head of Circulation, Dinos Andreou. Only those persons on the list and current NSU faculty may borrow the molecular models.

Circulation of these kits is strictly by appointment. Each borrower must call circulation at (954) 262-4601 and ask to speak with a circulation supervisor, in order to schedule an appointment to both check out and check in these kits.

Borrowers will sign an agreement for the molecular model kits that will include details about their responsibility for the models while they are checked out. The loan period for molecular models is 15 days.
