Google Scholar Basics

Learn how to use Google Scholar to find full-text articles, complete known query searches, and compare and contrast to library databases.

Configure your Google Scholar Account

Not all search results on Google Scholar will allow you to view the full text of an article. This is because most journals are accessed via paid subscriptions.

Good news: You have access to a huge number of these journals through NSU. Use the "Find It @ NSU" link (marked with an arrow in the below picture) to access an article on Google Scholar.

There are two options to get Google Scholar to search for NSU Library access to articles.

1. Start your search at the library site and access Google Scholar.

2. Link your Google account to NSU, so the "Find it @ NSU" link will appear even if you don't start your search from the Library homepage.

Click on our customized search setting page here and click Save. If you are logged in to your Google account, it will remember your setting.
