Power Publishing Day: Recordings 2021

Although English-language publications dominate the academic publishing world, there is a substantial amount of valuable knowledge published every day, you may be missing if you remain a mono-lingual scholar. Even if you are bi-lingual, you may still be missing cutting-edge research. To overcome this language limitation, you do not have to learn Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Turkish, Cantonese, Swahili, or even Klingon, because now you can access this abundance of information by using resources such as Google Translate and Microsoft Translator to facilitate your development as a multilingual researcher and writer. In this presentation, I will demonstrate easy ways to search, retrieve, and utilize ideas in your research and writing from resources in over 100 languages.

There are numerous ways to utilize the Web of Science platform to assist in your decision making for determining where to publish. This session will explore those possibilities and best practices when it comes to analyzing the Journal Citation Reports, Master Journal List, Manuscript Matcher, and the Web of Science.

This session will “demystify” the book proposal process, help researchers and deans understand what a house like Emerald is looking for in terms of topic, impact, and reach of content, and provide tips and insider knowledge to help maximize the chances of proposal acceptance. This session aims to give you an audience for your idea, get you sharing your knowledge, and get you writing!

Publishing your academic work is easier when you start with an understanding of how to write for publication. Join faculty from the NSU Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts to learn about how to approach writing your thesis or dissertation in the way most likely to lead to publication.

This webinar focuses on how to publish a technical article with IEEE. The presenter, Tiffany McKerahan, Manager of Author Engagement & Support at IEEE, will provide guidance on everything from how the IEEE publishing process works to time-saving techniques when writing and submitting your article.
