HS codes
The Harmonized System is a classification system used in international trade. HS consists of 6-digit codes assigned to traded products. Countries can adjust these codes up to 10 digits. You can search HS codes by keywords or by hierarchy in Trade Map, a tool made available by the International Trade Center.
Schedule B is the classification used by the United States and it uses a 10 digit code to classify products. The Census Bureau offers a Schedule B search engine that allows users to classify their products.
