The Brookings Institution is a nonprofit public policy organization based in Washington, DC. Our mission is to conduct in-depth research that leads to new ideas for solving problems facing society at the local, national and global level.

This is a great resource, an online library with a number of open source books, articles, edited chapters and transcripts. This is maintained by STEM Swiss University ETH Zurich.

This site contains reports written by prominent political scientists and foreign policy experts. These reports focus on "analyzing trends in organized violence around the world." Reports are freely available as pdf files .

From their website, "In early 1946, the Federation of Atomic Scientists rebranded as the Federation of American Scientists.
