  • If you assign a Creative Commons license, you are not relinquishing your copyright but giving permission on how your work can be used. Licensing can become complicated when you adapt multiple materials published under different licenses and copyright.

Use Creative Commons tools to help share your work. Extra layer on top of copyright that dictates how you would like your work to be used and shared. The license allows you to give people permission on how to use, share, and remix your content. 

Our free, easy-to-use copyright licenses provide a simple, standardized way to give your permission to share and use your creative work— on conditions of your choice. You can adopt one of our licenses by sharing on a platform, or choosing a license below.
