EndNote X9

NOTE:

Please note that X9 is no longer the current version of EndNote. This is a legacy guide, kept for users of X9 who have not updated.  This guide has not been updated to reflect newer versions of EndNote.

NSU Students, Staff, and Faculty can download the current version of EndNote here, and view our current EndNote Guide for instructions on its use.

Adding References

There are a couple of ways to add citations to an Endnote library.

  • Most databases provide an easy method of moving citations from the database straight into Endnote. (Direct Export.)
  • For some items (such as books and websites), you will need to manually enter the information into your Endnote library.

Regardless of how you get citations into Endnote, you can easily insert them into a Word document and format them in the appropriate bibliographic style.
