Catalog Description:

This course will allow students to gain a deeper understanding of the unique nature of leadership, communication, and technology and how it aligns with an organizational culture. In this course, students will evaluate their knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics (KSAOs) as a leader within their organization and potential careers. Students will be able to add a repertoire of synthesizing scholarly literature, analysis of surveys, critical thinking skills, and implementing relevant and real-world experiences for their professional portfolio. Students will differentiate the various communication models and how each is applied in various negotiation techniques and tactics to provide a positive outcome, while preventing conflict and chaos.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explain how communication, negotiations, and technology impacts leadership.
  • Research various platforms to adequately engage an audience by strengthening learning and opportunities for developing future skills.
  • Engage in scholarly discussion and critical thinking about leadership, technology, and communication in the student’s field of study.
  • Apply problem-solving skills that require critical thinking in the areas of leadership, communication, and technology.
  • Research and analyze results of surveys/assessments to make reliable decisions to improve one’s abilities within their organization.
  • Integrate communication and technology practices in the academic setting that can be used in the professional setting.
  • Develop a plan for continuous individual improvement in leadership, communication, and technology skills.
