Description:
This course will provide a comprehensive examination of specific disorders and problematic psychological states during childhood and adolescence. An emphasis will be place on the description, theoretical conceptualization, and etiology of disorders. Prerequisite: PSY 1405

Learning Outcomes:
1.    To increase understanding of theory, research, etiology, assessment and diagnosis in the area of child and adolescent psychopathology;
2.    To be able to identify the signs and symptoms of a disorder, as well as to identify diagnostic classifications and to formulate differential diagnoses from clinical material;
3.    To become aware of biological, environmental , and cultural factors related to childhood psychopathology, including risk and protective factors.
