Searching your Endnote Library

So now that you have a library full of references, how do you find the specific one you are looking for? You can locate a single reference or a group of common references by using the Quick Search Box at the top of the screen or by opening the Search Panel

Simple Search Steps

There is a search bar at the top of the screen.  This is the simple search tool bar.  Type in your search term(s) and hit enter.  Items with that search term will appear and highlight within the reference.

Advanced Search Steps

  1. In the same search bar at the top as the simple search, you will see a button "Advanced Search."  Click on it.
  2. In the advanced search area, you will be able to choose what type of information you want to search for in the first drop down box and how you want to narrow that search term down in the second drop down.  Add your search terms to the box and click search.
