Industry Research

International industry profiles can be found in the following databases in our library collection. 

Individual country profiles or global industry profiles are also available in our resources. Most often geographic coverage is indicated in the title. To identify those you might want to try out the following strategies.

•  = Users listed next to this icon have access on campus. (This will often say ALL indicating all users have access on campus. There are a few exceptions.) 
•  = Users listed next to this icon have access off campus.

Barnes reports

• Search by NAICS code (try 5 digits, if no results try the 6 digits) in the NAICS code dedicated field + Barnes (name of publisher) (in the Anywhere field).
• Another strategy is to use “Worldwide Industry Market Reports” in the Publication title field + desired NAICS code (try 5 digits, if no results try the 6 digits) in the NAICS code dedicated field, lower on the page.

Fitch reports

• Search by Fitch or “Fitch Solutions Industry Insight Reports” in the Publication Title field + industry related keyword in the Anywhere field.
• Another strategy is to search by (BMI  OR "Business Monitor") in the Anywhere field + industry related keyword in the “Anywhere except full text” field, but this strategy will yield slightly more diverse results. Limit your results to reports from the Source Type filter on the left. 

Search tips:

• Search by “MarketLine industry” in the title AND name of country in the title in the second search box.
• MarketLine in title AND industry keyword in title AND name of country in title

Search tips:

• You can get to industry reports from a company’s profile. If you know the name of a player and want to check out how their industry is doing, from the company profile go to Company reports (last tab from the right), then click on Industry reports.

Search tips:

• Select Country info in Guided search, then the country of interest, go to Economic overview.
