TBRCL I.D.E.A Labs: 3D Organon

Introduction

The HPD Library has 4 licenses of 3D Organon available, all of which can be used on our Meta Quest 2 VR headsets. At the moment 2 licenses are assigned at the Tampa Bay Regional Campus Library and 2 at the Martin and Gail Press Health Professions Division Library, however, these licenses can be transferred between libraries if the situation requires it. Allowing up to 4 licenses activated on different headsets.

Starting up

In order to start 3D Organon perform the following steps:

  1. Press the Oculus button Oculus Button Transparenton the right controller to open the menu
  2. Select the Apps iconApps Button Transparent in the bottom of menu
  3. Find 3D Organon  and select it
  4. Once it finishes loading up it will auto-login

Recentering Your Position

To reset or recenter the view of your VR headset there are three methods:

METHOD A:

  1. Hold down the Oculus button  Oculus Button Transparent for 5 seconds until your view is recentered

METHOD B:

  1. Tap the the Oculus buttonOculus Button Transparentin quick succession at least 2 times
  2. Wait for the Voice Commands prompt to appear
  3. Say "Recenter" or <research more names for the command>

METHOD C:

  1. Press the Oculus button Oculus Button Transparent once
  2. A window will show up, in the bottom left corner there is a button saying "Quit", press this button
  3. You will be returned back to the home page, find 3D Organon again and start it up

 

Additionally it is possible to adjust the height of the floor in the headset, to do so perform the following steps:

  1. Press the Oculus button Oculus Button Transparent and select the settings icon <insert image>
  2. Go to "guardian", select adjust floor level
  3. Set the height of the floor appropriately
  4. Redraw the guardian or switch to stationary
