The case study method, now a widely used hands-on teaching method in business education, was pioneered by Harvard Business School at the beginning of the 20th century. The collections included in this guide cover a variety of topics in management, marketing, accounting, finance and entrepreneurship. Faculty use the case method to prepare students for decision making through analysis of real life dilemmas that need solving. Students are asked to find, discuss and refine solutions to the problem described in the case.
