Before you begin your scan, you can adjust the brightness of the scan

by dragging the Brightness slider. 

There is a camera display of your object on the upper-left of the screen. 

You want as clear a view of your object as you can get. 

When the Brightness is set very low, the object may appear dull and dark. 

When the Brightness is turned up very high, your object may appear overexposed (large red spots).
