Oceanographic Campus Library 3D Scanner

A guide to the use and best practices of the OCL's 3D scanner.

Calibration: Step 1

Power on the EinScan-SE 3D Scanner.

Calibration: Step 2

Click on the EXScan S icon in the middle of the screen

Calibration: Step 3

Choose Device Type:  EinScan-SE and click Next.

Calibration: Step 4

Choose Working Mode:  Calibrate and click Next.

 

Calibration: Step 5

Set the angle of the calibration support stand at the notch between 68¨ and 75°.

Calibration: Step 6

The scanner will prompt you to place the board in a specific pattern, with the single offset dot above the other three dots.  Place the calibration board on the calibration support.

 

Calibration: Step 7

Place the board and support stand on the center of the turntable, facing the scanner.  The scanner camera should project a + sign onto the board.  Press Snap.

Calibration: Step 8

The scanner will prompt you to rotate the calibration board to match the image on the screen- the single offset dot should be to the left of the other three dots.  Rotate the calibration board but do NOT move the calibration support.  Press Snap.

 

Calibration: Step 9

The scanner will prompt you to rotate the calibration board to match the image on the screen- the single offset dot should be below the other three dots.  Rotate the calibration board but do NOT move the calibration support.  Press Snap.

Calibration: Step 10

If anything was done incorrectly the scanner will inform you it was not properly calibrated and you may begin again.  Otherwise it will return you to the Working Mode menu and the scanner is calibrated.
