Oceanographic Campus Library 3D Scanner

A guide to the use and best practices of the OCL's 3D scanner.

Fixed Scan

The scanner can take a single-frame shot of your object from one angle.  This is useful if your object is too large for the turntable or you only need one specific angle- especially if there are gaps in your original scan.

You can set the scanner to Fixed Scan mode by putting the "With Turntable" switch in  the Off position.

The scan will not pick up any other angle of your object.

See the Scan Refinement page for information on how to complete your scan.  See the Other Tips and Tricks page for information on how to pick up additional scans with the turntable when your object is awkwardly shaped or you need the camera to focus on one difficult angle.
